Our adult degree programs come with the support of our Adult Learner Services Office (ALSO). We collaborate with working adults like you to discover how your previous experience and knowledge can translate to credits toward your degree.
Based on your goals and the credits you’ve earned so far, we determine the remaining courses you need to graduate so you can continue your education without feeling like you’re starting over.
Get ahead with our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
At this stage, every bit of experience counts. That’s why we offer a Prior Learning Assessment for our adult degree programs. It’s a nationally recognized process that evaluates knowledge and learning gained outside of the traditional classroom, earning you credits toward your degree.

Jumpstart your degree with Athens State Crosswalks.
If you’ve completed certification or training, you may already have some credits for your major under your belt. We call them Crosswalks, but you may have seen them referred to as “pre-approved certification and training.”
These industry-recognized adult degree programs allow you to earn academic credit for select certifications and trainings at no cost.
Examples of approved Crosswalks include:
