Dr. Mark Durm Receives Professor Emeritus Status

Athens State is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Durm has been given Professor Emeritus status.

Dr. Durm served as a member of Athens State University’s faculty for 38 years and held the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. He attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Athens State College, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from The University of Mississippi.

Dr. Durm also served as Department Chair for Behavioral Sciences, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Presiding Officer of the Faculty Senate, and was active in many University Committees during his tenure. Dr. Durm is a much respected citizen of the Athens State University community and his dedicated efforts contributed to the quality and reputation of Athens State University and its students and will be beneficial for years to come.
