Founders Hall

The Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association will be hosting the “Haints & Saints: Tales of History and the Unexplained from Athens State’s 200 Years Guided Tour” at Athens State University as part of Athens State’s Athens Forever Bicentennial Series of Events. The tour will be held on October 29 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

As one of Athens’ oldest establishments, guests will enjoy a guided walking tour around Athens State’s campus and hear accounts of the institution’s history, lore, and unexplained events. The night will begin on Founders Green with stories of historic Athens State Saints, followed by a trip to nearby historic districts for even more spooky tales. The tour will conclude in McCandless Hall with some final stories from the University’s nearly 200-year history and a bit of Halloween fun including s’mores and other refreshments.

The tour is open to ages 12 and up. Tickets are $10 each and are available online at Eventbrite.com. For more information, please contact the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association at 256-232-5411.
