Nickie Little Selected to SAEA Board of Directors

Nickie Little

Nickie Little, Athens State University Early Childhood Education student, has been selected to represent Athens State on the Student Alabama Education Association (SAEA) Board of Directors. She was elected as the Northern Regional Coordinator and will begin her term on June 1 for the 2021-2022 year. This is a statewide leadership role where Little will represent SAEA, Athens State University, and Athens State’s College of Education. Nickie is a member of Athens State’s branch of SAEA and currently works for Verner Elementary in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The SAEA is a professional organization comprised of college students preparing to be educators and is a component of the Alabama Education Association (AEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). When future teachers join SAEA, they become part of the largest professional education association in the state of Alabama. The mission of the SAEA is to provide access to knowledge and information which will enhance the ability of our members to succeed in their chosen profession, to foster leadership skills, and to assist in the transition from college student to professional educator.

The SAEA has a Registered Student Organization chapter at Athens State. For more information, visit www.athens.edu or contact Johnnie Lundin at johnnie.lundin@athens.edu.
