The Office of Admissions provides a variety of services to students including assistance with admission, transfer of credit, and registration for courses.
Athens State University admits students every semester. Admission requirements for Regular Transfer require completion at least 60 semester hours of college credit from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, or an earned associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. For information on other categories for admission, see the University catalog or the Admission Requirements policy.
Students are admitted conditionally as long as admission requirements are met and unofficial copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are submitted to the Office of Admissions. Official copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended must be received before a student can be admitted unconditionally. If all official transcripts are not received by the end of the fifth week of a student’s first semester or term, the student will not be allowed to register for any subsequent terms until all official transcripts are submitted.
