Athens State is an upper-level institution for junior and senior students. Each year, students transfer from more than 600 different two-year and four-year institutions to enter Athens State. Our faculty and staff are experts at assisting in the transfer process. ATTENTION:  ALL NEW STUDENTS: IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTATION According to State Board Policy 801.01: Admissions, September 2008; all new students will be required to provide one(1) Primary form of Documentation  (Unexpired Alabama Driver’s License, unexpired U.S. passport, Resident Alien Card – pre 1997, etc.) or two (2) Secondary Forms of Documentation, one of which must be a photo identification card.

( U.S. military ID card, social security card, credit card,etc.) in order to be admitted to the Alabama Community College System .  AN APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED ABOVE IN PERSON OR THROUGH A NOTARIZED COPY BY U.S. MAIL.    

Making application is easy and the college admits new students every semester. Admission standards require that you must have completed at least 64 semester hours of college course work or hold a two-year associate's degree to enroll. Your application will require your course transcripts and a small non-refundable application fee. Campus visits are welcome too! It's your chance to meet faculty, staff and your peers.
