Athens State University participates in the Reverse Transfer program through the National Student Clearinghouse. Reverse Transfer is designed for current students who transferred to Athens State University from a two-year institution before completing an Associate’s degree. Through this program, students can choose to have their credits from Athens State University sent back to the two-year institution for review and determination of eligibility for an Associate’s degree. Athens State University will not send any records to the two-year institution without the student’s consent. For additional information, please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@athens.edu
Please note that not all two-year institutions participate in the Reverse Transfer program, although many do, including those within the Alabama Community College System. The responsibility for evaluating the student’s record and determining eligibility for the Associate’s degree rests entirely with the two-year institution. Students should contact the two-year institution directly for questions about eligibility, award dates, degree conferral deadlines, applicable fees, and other related matters.
