Tuition Waiver Information

Summary of Guidelines for ACCS and Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education Employees (or Dependents) taking UNDERGRADUATE Classes at Athens State University

  • Eligible employee (full-time, permanent, Salary Schedule H-30 and H-35) will be allowed a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester under this waiver.
  • An eligible employee (or dependent) will receive a waiver of $167 per credit hour after 3 full years of employment in the ACCS, 2/3 of $167 after two full years of employment, 1/3 of $167 after one full year of employment.
  • Salary Schedule H-30 and H-35 employees will be allowed a waiver calculated at a prorated rate of full-time employment
  • Waiver applies to tuition only. Remaining tuition, fees, and books are the responsibility of the student.
  • Waiver does not apply to repeated courses.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 must be maintained.
  • Completed form and current unofficial transcript must be received no later than the last day of Late Registration for each semester. Documents may be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected].

  • Must have been employed by ACCS or by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education for 3 full years to be eligible.
  • Employee will receive ½ waiver of total tuition for up to two courses per semester.
  • Dependent of employee will receive ½ tuition for one course per semester.
  • Remaining tuition, fees, and books are the responsibility of the student.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained.
